Would it be possible add a button on the top of the screen to allow the user to quickly lock the app, without of having to bring up the menu on the top-right. If you can't force the button how about a seeing to allow the user to decide where the lock button appears. This would allow people with larger screens to more easily lock the app when using only their left hand.
