Android version of SafeInCloud app works well on Chrome OS, except using it on an external display. When the app is on an external display, just black screen is displayed.

Kaal Purush,
The Android version of Safe In Cloud has worked ever since day one that Play Store was first implemented on Chromebooks. ***It simply requires you to first run DropBox for Android before running SafeInCloud.*** (I must admit that I don't know what happens when you use something other than DropBox.) I would much prefer a Web app or PWA version of Safe In Cloud, but its author obviously will forever lack that level of skill and/or enlightenment.
Your request for a Chromebook plugin doesn't make sense at all. Chrome OS uses the Chrome browser. Chrome browser doesn't use plugins or Android. Chrome browser does use extensions that you can add from the Chrome Web Store. But Chrome browser extensions have absolutely nothing to do with Android. You can find the "SafeInCloud Password Manager" in the Chrome Web Store. All that it's supposed to do is enable pasting passwords. I tried it once; I don't use it.

With support for android apps, its pretty easy now to implement in chromebook browser plugin. Others are doing it e.g: Enpass
Please bring support now as it was promised years ago.

HOUSTON, I HAVE THE SOLUTION -- found in the SafeInCloud Knowledge Base:
https://safeincloud.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/465279-how-to-configure-dropbox-cloud-sync
This solution enables the SafeInCloud Android app to connect to a DropBox database if the Chromebook is running the Chrome OS developer channel, ***AND*** it is one of the Chromebooks that has support for Google Play store. (Asus Flip; Acer R 11; Google Pixel, as of this posting.) It simply requires you to first run DropBox for Android before running SafeInCloud.

HBK008 describes a workaround that I've tested and confirmed. However I didn't have to install ARC in my situation because my Asus Chromebook Flip is running the Chrome OS developer channel. (The Android container runs ARC automatically, though the user can't infer this without opening the task manager window.) I can't say that I'm at all happy about having to migrate the SafeInCloud database from DropBox to OneDrive, but it's better than waiting around indefinitely for the unresponsive app developer to fix its Chrome OS connection to other Cloud storage services.

I was able to get this working by using ARC from Google, twerk (which repackages the apk), and using the OneDrive option for the database.
Google Drive and Dropbox both wouldn't authenticate due to small issues.. Google Drive just fails to authenticate, and Dropbox wouldn't give the token back to the app due to the issue Robert reported below.

Please revisit this!

I have an Asus Flip Chromebook and installed SafeInCloud using the Chrome OS developer version that supports Android Play Store apps. Attempting to launch SafeInCloud causes me to be prompted to grant permission to access the database in DropBox. On the Dropbox.com Website, when I click "Allow," I get the following error "External Protocol Request. Google Chrome OS does not support launching an external application to handle db-wi10d2d4asf66av: links." Please see if you able to resolve this problem with SafeInCloud. If you can, then I'm absolutely positive that the app will work perfectly under Chrome OS, just like almost all other Android apps.

I would be so pleased if you could get safe in cloud to work on my chrome book. Any planned date for this ?

"Chrome packaged apps" run as native apps instead of from a Web server, if that's the issue.
https://developer.chrome.com/apps/about_apps
"Instead of writing and maintaining separate applications for Windows, OS X and Linux, you can write a single application that runs anywhere Chrome runs." This includes Windows, Linux, OS X, and of course Chrome OS. "Using Chrome Apps for Mobile (MCA), you can deploy your applications to mobile and target hardware features only available on Android and IOS platforms."

Why don't you have just a web app similar to MEGA, so that it downloads into the browser and then encrypts. Then deletes the session when you exit?

Long, long, long overdue. Rather than platform-specific a secure Web app takes care of everyone.

I have already run the safe in cloud android apk on a chromebook using arc welderand the app runs perfectly including the syncing with dropbox and one drive.
The only thing that doesn't work is syncing with google drive, for that you need to release it on the chrome web store with a valid auth id. I would happily pay a similar fee that I paid for the Android app to purchase a fully functional chrome-os copy from the webstore. -

+1 i really need this! as someone said, google arc can be the right way...

Please take a look at Google ARC ( https://developer.chrome.com/apps/getstarted_arc ). It allows developers to port, with little effort, Android apps to the Chrome platform. That means that you can port your Android app to Linux and Chromebooks, making many users happy!

Chrome OS is my main machine. I'm a Lastpass customer at this moment but, for the last few weeks, I have been searching for a better password manager. I think I have found such goodness with SafeInCloud. I'm still on the trial period but, so far, I'm liking it a lot. The only thing that still gets me a little bit hesitant is not having a Chrome / Chrome OS extension. Thanks in advance.
