Export only selected record(s)
I would like to have the possibility to export only selected record(s) as simple text or csv data instead of exporting all the recerds.

I just tried to export a few records and the CSV would only export some random 7 records to CSV (same records each time). I then tried again with a smaller selection (selected label and then the records) and the export was empty (headers but not records). Exporting to plain text resulted the records I had selected. I think there is a bug in there somewhere.
Currently using v.19.1.6 on Windows 10, 1903.
I forgot to add that export record selection is more than a convenience. In the case of regular maintenance wherein we delete records that are no longer need but have have historic or forensic value at a later date, it is crucial that our export only include the record or records being deleted and thus, now archived. Without record selection, I'd have 1,000 records in each export with no practical way of knowing why I did the export and what specific records was I exporting. We really, really, need this! Thanks.
I whole wholeheartedly concur with y'all.
I was flabbergasted to find out that my last 50 or so "exports" of what I thought were singly selected records were, in fact, exports of my entire 1,000 record database each time. That's 49,950 unwanted exports! Yikes!
What I strongly suggest and, I what I think most would want, is for the File / Export dialog to ask two sets of questions, each with predefined radio button options:
=== File / Export ===
Which records do yo want to export:
( ) Currently selected group
( ) Currently selected record
( ) Cancel this export
What export format to use:
( ) Text
( ) CSV (can be later imported)
( ) XML (cannot be later imported)
Choose Encryption Type:
Enc Type: ( ) None ( ) PDF ( ) Zip
=== End sample
The last question was added to avoid the extra step of having the user manually encrypt the output file. Acrobat and Zip are truly ubiquitous and would serve this purpose well. They each have DES level encryption and have SDK access for programs like yours.
Have to agree with OP here. Just transferred all my data from Handy Safe one by one. Fortunately I only had 80 + cards to do. LOL
Add export as password protected PDF (for minimal security protection when sending via email or when exported file is lost)
